Sukanya is a young versatile performing artist from India. She is primarily a vocal and screen artist having quite a few music albums, live performances, television serials and films to her credit. She hails from Calcutta, renamed as Kolkata – India’s cultural and intellectual capital. She is an all out artist dedicated to creativity in different aspects of fine arts. Music

Sukanya started singing when she was just a child. Her first performance was at the Calcutta Radio Station at the age of 3. She comes from the classical music background, having completed her 'Sangeet Prabhakar' (graduation in Music) from Prayag Sangeet Samity, Allahabad at the tender age of 11, an achievement in itself. Now she is a popular singer and already has five solo albums released by important record companies including PolyGram and T-Series. read more >

Poetry

Sukanya has been a poet since she was 6 years old. Her poems have been published in some of the most important publications of Bengali literature.

Her poems portray a distinctly original style and can be categorised as serious literary pieces that are at the same time very lucid and easy reading.

Acting

Sukanya had a successful acting career, which included primarily Bengali TV Serials and also feature films. Her long list of TV serials include 'Darpa Churna', 'Swapner Bazaar', 'Chena Achena', 'Singha Bahini' etc.

Besides acting in TV soaps she was the host of one of the most popular Musical program on Doordarshan - Gaan Antaheen. This was a weekly programme, which she conducted for over two years. read more >

Drawing

Like all her other forms of art Sukanya is again distinctly original in her approach even here. Her works are a complete departure from convention, right from the fact that she does not use oil on canvas. As can be seen from her works she draws on paper using colour pencils and water colours.
